Job Applicant

Welcome to the Job Reference Profile.

 

The goal of this Profile is for you to highlight your key strengths also known as virtues.   Your strengths will be compared with the required strengths of the job.  Strength versus strength will be compared.

 

The Job Reference Profile allows you to select your References and communicate with them.

 

The Profile allows you to invite many more References  than traditionally allowed.

 

The Profile invites your References to highlight your strong virtues and transmit those strengths to your prospective employer.

 

The Profile is limited to the specific job you are seeking to obtain and specific virtues that the job requires.

This Profile will consist of a number of phases.  Please review them in sequence

Employer

The potential employer is responsible for entering your name and email into the system.  The potential employer will have opened a job opportunity, defined 6 virtues, and entered job finalists into the job opportunity.  The 6 virtues are drawn from a list of 30 virtues that you can review.  Click the Green Box for more Virtue information.

Applicant

Once you have entered your Username and Password, you will be entered into the profile system.

 

(If you have not received an email with a Username and Password, please contact your potential employer.)

 

Once you have this information, you may enter the Profile site when you are ready.

 

Your primary task is to define at least 3 References and up to 20 References will be accepted.  You are encouraged to include as many references as possible.  More quality references improves the overall profile.

 

You are recommended to select as many quality references as possible.  Select those who have known you for as many years as possible.  Select former supervisors, distinguished citizens, teachers, clergy, professionals, and others who know you.

 

Enter a name and an email for each reference.

 

You will then be shown a summary screen of all References.  When you are ready, YOU must send the Reference request email.  As each email is sent, the list will update.

 

It is recommended that you contact your references during this process to inform them of the process and encourage them to complete the 17 question survey.

 

The survey first consists of stories that contain a virtue pair such as  courage and wittiness (see Virtues for definitions).  The reference will assess which one is your stronger virtue.  The survey then asks the reference to indicate how strong you are in each specific virtue that the employer has selected for the job opening. All reference responses are in numbers that build an applicant profile.  No words are requested.  The numbers are accumulated from each reference and returned back to the employer as an Applicant Profile.

 

Check the Reference Summary Screen to see if the reference has completed the survey. At any time, you may resend the Reference information to the Referee.

If you are successful in being offered the job, your employer will be asked at the six month employment anniversary to fill out the same profile as your references.

Post-Employment

 If you apply for another job, expect the job opportunity to need a difference set of virtues, and therefore you will need to redo the entire process to determine an appropriate profile.  Even if the set of virtues is identical, you will need to redo the profile.

Once 3 References have completed the Survey, a similar 17 question survey will be offered to you the applicant.  Answer them as honestly and accurately as you are able.

 

Many questions are designed to offer you two positive strengths.  Your task is to select the one that is most important to you while recognizing the other.

 

When you have submitted your answers, and when as many references have answered as possible, you have completed your profile.
